By 2010, Dacia plans to enter the SUV market with their own model, based on the same strategy they used for the Dacia Logan, a low price, under 15.000 euro.

And so the Dacia line of models will increase. After the Dacia Sandero was launched, they’re preparing to launch a 4×4 in 2010. And it’s not going to be just a bigger sedan. At 4.5 meters in length, the Romanian SUV will remind of the Nissan Qashqai, even in the technical department. It will be available both with two and four wheels traction.

Right now, it’s though that the Dacia SUV will have a 1.6L engine with 110HP and a 2.0L with 140HP. As for the diesel engines, it will have a 1.9L with 130HP and maybe a 1.6L with 110HP.

The price will be smaller than Renault Koleos by 10.000 euros and than the Nissan Qashqai by 4000 euros.

The first Dacia SUV model will be launched at the Geneva Auto Show, together with a compact sized concept.

The Dacia SUV was 80% designed in Romania by RTR (Renault Technologie Roumanie). The model is in its final stages and its introduction is only a calendar problem. The Dacia SUV will not be based on the Renault Sandero Stepway that is currently on sale in Brazil.

Besides the SUV, Dacia will also launch a concept car of compact size, which will not be produced, but some of the design elements will be used in future Dacia cars.

Dacia SUV is the sixth model built on the Logan platform and will use components from other models produced by the Renault-Nissan alliance, which have the advantage of being tested as reliable already.

According to the French press, Dacia SUV will use the engines that exist on the Dacia Logan Sedan and MCV, and the car will have a starting price of 13,000 euros.

The Geneva Auto Show will take place in the March 3rd – March 15th period.

Last year, it was rumored that Dacia is going to launch an SUV model. According to unofficial sources, the Dacia SUV is going to be seen in show-rooms from Romania starting from June 15th.
The prices are reasonable, as it was expected. The first Dacia SUV will have a starting price of 15,000 Euro. The design resembles the Nissan Qashqai and it will have 2 and 4 wheel traction.

Per quanto riguarda il SUV, Dacia avrebbe deciso di denominarlo Kanjara. Si tratta di una sport utility vehicle da 7 posti e lunga più o meno quanto una Hyundai Santa Fe o una Chevrolet Captiva. La Kanjara si presenterà con un listino molto competitivo: infatti, il prezzo base dovrebbe aggirarsi attorno ai 18.000 euro.

La Kanjara sarà equipaggiata con i propulsori benzina 1.6 da 110 CV e 2.0 da 140 CV. L’offerta dei diesel sarà limitata inizialmente al 1.9 dCi da 130 CV, mentre in seguito sarà disponibile anche l’inedita unità 1.6 dCi da 110 CV. La Dacia Kanjara SUV verrà presentata, molto probabilmente, al prossimo Salone di Francoforte.
